１月２６日 ワークショップ＆カバパーティーだぞ
↑The first workshop in Vava’u this year was held at Fakamelino hall, which is the same place as the abacus competition last year.
今年ババウで初めてのワークショップがそろばん大会で去年使ったFakamelinoホールで開かれました。[Movie]’Eva dance動画：(11sec, 5sec)
↑GPS Neiafu teachers were sitting in the front row. I can say the No.1 school teachers are eagerly studying abacus.
Neiafu小学校の先生達が最前列に座りました。やはり一番の学校の先生達は一生懸命そろばんを勉強していると言えます。

↑Farfum came to the hall from the outer island’s school, GPS Matamaka.
Farfumさんが離島のMatamaka小学校から来ました。
↑By chance, I met two teachers, who were in TIOE last year. Both of them are wearing black clothes. From the right, Funaki, who is an attractive dancer, and Lave.
たまたま去年教員養成学校の生徒だった先生に会いました。両方とも黒い服を着ています。右から魅力的なダンサーFunakiさん、そしてLaveさん。
↑This time we had only an hour, although we managed to finish all of the contents within an hour, but I don’t think the participants can get these skills. We need a lot of practice to improve our skills. Anyway, it was a good experience for Sefo.
今回１時間しかありませんでした。何とか１時間以内に全部終えましたが、参加者が技術を習得したとは思えません。技術を高めるためにはたくさんの練習が必要だからです。とにかくSefoさんには良い経験になりました。
↑After the workshop, we called on Taichi and used the Internet a lot.
ワークショップの後、Taichiさんを訪ね、ネットをたくさんしました。
↑And then, we went to a kava party with Pungatoa, who is the school’s officer.
それからスクールズオフィサーのPungatoaさんとカバパーティーに出かけました。

カメラを見ている人はNeiafu小学校の校長Vakaさんです。
↑It was my first time to go to a kava party in Vava’u.
ババウでカバパーティーに行くのは初めてでした。

カヴァは南太平洋でとれる植物の根っ子の成分から作った飲み物です。パーティーでは、寄付金を集めて、その地区の子ども達の奨学金や、建物の建て直しなどに使われおります。カバパーティーに関するトンガ語はいくつかありますが、「モヘタハ」とは聞いた事がありません。
トンガ語に無理矢理結びつけて直訳すると「モヘ＝寝る」「タハ＝１、ひとり」ですが・・・。
