「Peace Corps party in my house」
１月１３日 我が家でピースコープパーティーだぞ
↑When I woke up, a centipede was dead beside the entrance. I know that after a heavy rain, some of centipedes lose their homes because of a flood and escape into my room, so last night (it was heavy rain) before I slept, I sprayed Moltein (a very strong spray in Tonga) beside the entrance. The centipedes will be killed when they cross the place which I sprayed Moltein. That was my strategy.
起きた時、１匹のムカデが入口近くで死んでいました。激しい雨の後は、いくつかのムカデは洪水のせいで家を失い、人の家に避難してくるという事を知っています。だから、激しく雨が降った昨夜、寝る前に強烈な殺虫剤、モルテインスプレーを入口付近に吹き付けておきました。ムカデは吹き付けられた場所を通るだけで死にます。これは１つの工夫でした。ふふふっお前の行動はお見通しなんだよ！
↑It rained heavily last night, so I put a small tank under the roof. The rain water came along the roof, but it’s clearer than rain water in a rain water tank. This is because the rain water tank gathers water which has come together from a lot of drainpipes, and long time has passed since it fell down from the sky.
昨夜は激しい雨だったので、小さいタンクを屋根の下に置きました。雨水が屋根を伝ってきます。でもそれは天水タンクの水よりもキレイです。何故なら天水タンクの水はたくさんの雨どいから伝ってきた水を集めていますし、空から降ってきた時からかなり時間が経っているからです。
↑Sefo learned how to use Microsoft Word and Excel a little and then he started making a document for the planning week. In any case, we have to finish preparation for it by at the end of tomorrow, because planning week starts next week.
Sefoさんは、ワードとエクセルの使い方を少し学びました。そしてプランニングウィークの書類を作り始めました。何としても明日の終わりまでにその準備を終えなければなりません。来週からプランニングウィークが始まるからです。
↑At 4 o’clock, Shunsuke and I went to the JICA dormitory to explain a summary of the articles of the volunteer. We will take charge of a reader of the volunteer meeting next time.
Two volunteers had come to Tonga this week. By chance both of them have the same name. From the right side, Shunsuke, Yuka, Yuka and Torojiro.
４時にYari君とJICAドミトリーに行きました。次回総会で議長となるので、隊員規約について説明する為です。
２人の新隊員が今週トンガにやってきました。たまたま２人の名前は同じです。右からYari君、Yukaさん、もう１人Yukaさん、Torojiro先生。
↑Following that, I gave No.269 YAMANEKO doll to Shunsuke, No.270 YAMANEKO doll to Keitarou. It was my first time to give YAMANEKO dolls to someone this year. It may be a kind of a memorial YAMANEKO.
その後、山ネコNo.２６９をYari君に、No.２７０をKeitarouさんにあげました。今年に入って誰かに山ネコをあげたのは初めてです。これはある意味メモリアルな山ネコかも。
↑At 7 o’clock, 4 Peace Corps volunteers (Melissa, Farfum, Sela and Marie) came to my house. I promised Melissa and Sela to make my special Mabo-tofu.
７時に４人のピースコープボランティアが集まりました。Melissa先生、ババウのFarfumさん、KolovaiのSelaさん、KolongaのMarieさんです。Melissa先生とSelaさんに特製麻婆豆腐を作ると約束していました。
↑Of course I made it with three whole bulbs of garlic. It was delicious and they were pleased. I was happy.
もちろんニンニクを丸々３個入れました。おいしくて皆喜びました。自分も幸せでした。
↑After an hour, Keiji and Aya joined us. They are very good at cooking. Thanks to them we had a luxurious dinner party.
Thank you for coming. I want to do it many times.
１時間後K-GとAyaちゃんが加わりました。彼らはとても料理が上手です。お陰で豪華な夕食会となりました。
来てくれてありがとう。何回も開催したいですね～。
↑By the way, a lot of guests say that Neko-chan is very cute. I really think so, but sometimes she is very silly. This time she is aiming at a Japanese gecko. It’s sure she can never catch it, because she is caught by my bicycle spoke.
ところで、来た人の多くがNekoちゃんは可愛らしいと言います。まさしくそうだと思いますが、たまにNekoちゃんはだらしないのです。今回Nekoちゃんはヤモリを狙っておりますが、捕れる訳がありません。何故ならNekoちゃんは自転車のスポークに捕まっているので・・・。

ムカデが洪水で家に避難してくるなんて知りませんでした。
ReplyDeleteスリランカでも東海岸の方は大雨で死者が出るくらいの被害があったようです。しかも、最近は、スリランカ全土で寒いです。
といっても、20度前後なのですが、半袖暮らしにはややきついです。

ReplyDeleteムカデの行動は同じ敷地に住んでいる大家さんからよく聞いています。１年以上経ちましたが、相変わらず毒のあるムカデを素足で踏みつけてやっつけるトンガ方式は、未だに実践できません・・・。デカイですからね～踏み応えあるだろうし・・・。
世界中で異常気象ですね。お互い津波には気をつけましょう。日本は今年は雪が多いそうです。頭にきます！

特製マーボー豆腐は激しいよ～。トンガではかなり有名になってきました。臭いけど確実にスタミナがつきますぞ～。ブルキナ隊員の為に、高速チャリで出前するかな～。

ReplyDeleteそうか～そいつは話しが早い！ニンニクはうまいね～。トンガの隊員からは、マーボーよりもニンニクが主役になっているような料理なら、無理にマーボーにする必要がなく、ニンニクをそのままかじってればいいのに・・・って言われた（笑）。間違ってはいないね～。
