１２月２８日　ヌクアロファ観光だぞ～

We woke up at half past nine. We slept a lot, maybe because we went sightseeing aggressively yesterday. In addition, we visited a lot of places today as well, but we went around only in Nuku’alofa city by bicycle. Let me explain only a summary.

９時半に起きました。たくさん寝ました。多分昨日攻撃的に観光したからでしょう。さらに今日もたくさんの場所を訪れました。しかしヌクアロファ市内だけを自転車で廻りました。概要だけ説明させてください。

 

 

↑In the morning, we presented a Japanese gift to my landlord family. They were pleased.

　朝に、贈り物を大家さんに渡しました。喜んでくれました。

 

↑After 11 o’clock, We visited a bicycle repair shop, and then we rented bicycles.

１１時過ぎに自転車修理店を訪れ、自転車を借りました。

 

↑This is Teufaiva sports stadium.

　Teufaivaと言う競技場です。

 

↑This is my workplace, CDU.

職場のCDUです。

 

 

↑This is TIOE, Tonga Institute Of Education. I am teaching abacus here.

　教員養成学校です。ここでそろばんを教えています。

 

↑This is the Basilica church, which is very famous in Tonga.

Basilica教会といって、トンガでは有名な教会です。

 

↑This is the Royal tombs. The kings George Tupou the 1^st to the 4^th are buried here.

王家の墓で、王様のTupou１世から４世までが埋葬されています。

 

↑This is the Royal palace. It’s used as the State Guesthouse.

王族の家で、迎賓館として使われています。

 

↑This is the only one Kentucky Fried Chicken in Tonga. Unfortunately, this is just a used sign board, an imitation so to speak.

これはトンガに唯一のケンタッキーフライドチキンです。残念ながら、これは偽物です。まぁ中古の看板とでも言いましょうか・・・。

 

↑This is the main market in Nuku’alofa city center. They bought a lot of souvenirs.

ヌクアロファ市内の中心的なマーケットです。たくさんの土産を買いました。

 

↑We visited the JICA dormitory for a short time.

JICAドミトリーを短時間訪れました。

 

↑And then, we went to the east direction. On the way, we drank and ate a coconut. It was very rare for them.

それから、東の方角へ行きました。途中に椰子の実を飲んで食べました。珍しかったようです。

 

↑On the way back to my house, they took a photo of the post office. I thought it’s not rare.

　家への帰り道に、郵便局の写真を撮っていました。これは珍しくないと思うのですが・・・。

 

↑Around 7 o’clock, we had a dinner party in my house. Koichi, who is a Ha’apai volunteer, and Aisling, who is Irish and Brian (the Ha’apai divers shop owner)’s friend came to my house. We had a very good time.

　７時頃、夕食会を家で開きました。ハアパイボランティアのKouちゃんと、ハアパイのダイビングショップオーナーのBrianさんの友達でアイルランド人のAislingさんが来ました。楽しい時間が過ごせました。

 

↑I gave No.268 YAMANEKO doll to Aisling. It was YAMANEKO’s third time to go to Ireland.

　山ネコNo.２６８をAislingさんにあげました。山ネコにとってアイルランドに行くのは３回目です。

１２月２７日　トンガタプ観光の記事は飽きたぞ～

↑At 11 o’clock, my sister Akiko and her friend Chie came to Tonga. Oh long time no see, and nice to meet you Chie. They must have been tired but immediately I made them go sightseeing. The JICA dormitory’s security, Tevita, took charge of the driving.

１１時頃妹のAkikoさんと友達のChieさんがトンガに来ました。お～久しぶり。Chieさん初めまして。疲れていたでしょうが、いきなり観光に連れていきました。ドミトリーのセキュリティーTevitaさんが運転手を務めてくれました。

 

 

↑It’s my fourth time, maybe, to go sightseeing in the whole Tongatapu Island so I don’t want to explain anymore, but it was their first time so I needed to guide them. First, we went to the Captain Cook’s Landing Place.

　多分、トンガタプ全体の観光は４回目で、説明したいことはこれ以上無いのですが、彼らにとっては初めてなので、案内する必要がありました。初め、キャプテン・クックが上陸した場所に行きました。

 

 

↑Secondly, we visited Lapaha, which is the ancient royal family’s tomb.

２番目に、Lapahaという昔の王族の墓に行きました。

 

 

↑Thirdly, we saw the sign. Though the place shows the settlement in Polynesia, we could not find anything except for the sign. Anyway, this is one of the Tongatapu Island’s sightseeing points.

　３番目に看板を見ました。ポリネシア移住の記念か何かを表しているのですが、看板以外何も見つけられませんでした。とにかくここはトンガタプの観光名所の１つです。

↑After that, we climbed up the Ha’amonga monument.

その後、Ha’amonngaのモニュメントに登り・・・

 

↑Then, we visited Stalactite Cave. It cost 10 pa’anga (500 yen) so we just took a photo from the outside, and we didn’t go into the cave.

Stalactiteという洞窟に行きました。入るのに１０パアンガいるので入らず外から写真を撮っただけでした。

↑After that, we went to the ‘Oholei Beach and Hina Cave and then they went into the sea a little bit.

 その後、’OholeiビーチとHinaCave洞窟に行き、彼らは少し海に入りました。

 

↑Following that, we reached the Natural Land Bridge. We were fascinated by the dynamic scenery.

それで、Natural Land Bridgeに行き、迫力のある景色に魅了されました。

 

 

↑When we arrived at the Blow Holes, 2 hours has passed since it was high tide. In addition, the wave was very calm, so it was not so dynamic.

ブロウホールに着いた時は、満潮から２時間経っていて、波も穏やかだったので、迫力がそれほどありませんでした。

↑After the Blow Holes, we saw the forked coconut tree.

ボロウホールの後、二股の椰子の木を見ました。

 

↑We ate hamburgers at Kaimai Berger in Nuku’alofa.

ハンバーガーをNuku’alofaにあるKaimaiバーガーで食べました。

 

↑And then, we went to the western area. This is the Christianity Landing Place.

　そして、西側に行きました。これはキリスト教が伝わってきた場所です。

 

↑This is the western end of Tongatapu.

　これはトンガタプの西端です。

 

↑This is the Flying Fox Sanctuary. We saw a lot of bats. They were surprised that Tongan bats can fly steadily like a big bird. Japanese bats fly like a drunken driver.

　これはFlying Foxです。たくさんのコウモリを見ました。彼らはトンガのコウモリが大きい鳥の様に安定して飛ぶことに驚きました。日本のコウモリは酔っ払い運転の様なもんです。

 

↑Around 7 o’clock, we went back to my house and soon we met our landlord family. We exchanged greetings and they gave us Tongan food. They had cleaned my house, though I cleaned a lot yesterday, it might not have been enough. Malo ‘aupito.

　７時に家に帰ってきました。すぐに大家さん家族に会いました。お互い挨拶を交わして、大家さんがトンガ料理を出してくれました。彼らは家を掃除してくれたようです。昨日自分でも掃除しましたが、十分ではなかったようです・・・ありがとうございます。

 

 

↑After dinner, I gave No.267 YAMANEKO doll to Chie. She likes scuba diving as well, and we want to try the cave diving in ‘Eua.

　夕食の後、Chiichikuさんに山ネコNo.２６７をあげました。彼女もまたスキューバダイビングが好きで、エウアで洞窟ダイビングにチャレンジしたいと思っています。

26th Dec. Cleaning, Neko-chan, YAMANEKO-KO.

１２月２６日　掃除、Nekoちゃん、山ネコ子だぞ

 

↑Almost the whole day, I was in my house, and was cleaning for my sister. Akiko, who is my younger sister, and Chie, who is Akiko’s friend, are on the way to Tonga now. They are supposed to stay in my house so I needed to clean their room. Fortunately, my house has 3 rooms, so I can lend the other two rooms for them.

ほとんど１日中、家にいて、掃除をしていました。妹のAkikoさんと、その友達のChieさんがトンガに向かっております。我が家に泊まることになっているので掃除をする必要がありました。幸い部屋が３つあるので、他の２つを貸す事ができます。

 

 

↑In Japan, at the end of the year, we usually clean our house thoroughly. Though there is not such a Japanese custom in Tonga, as a result I did it well and my house became very clean.

　日本では年末に大掃除をしますが、トンガにはそのような習慣はありません。でも結果として大掃除をした事になりました。家はとてもきれいになりました。

 

↑I was watching Neko-chan while I cleaned my room. She really likes sitting on my bag. This is the special seat for Neko-chan.

Nekoちゃんを観察しながら部屋の掃除をしていました。NekoちゃんはTorojiro先生のカバンの上に座るのが大好きです。これはNekoちゃんの為の特別席です。

 

 

↑Yesterday, I saw Neko-chan on the shelf which hangs from the ceiling. I had a good idea to train Neko-chan. I put her feeder on the shelf. Of course she could reach the place easily. Neko-chan’s physical ability is pretty good.

　昨日、Nekoちゃんが天井からぶら下がった棚に乗っているのを見ました。そこでいいアイデアが浮かび、Nekoちゃんのエサをその棚に乗せました。もちろん簡単に届いてしまいます。Nekoちゃんの身体能力は凄いです。

↑After that, I showed her a dried seaweed, which is her favorite food. Neko-chan has become used to catching it. Neko-chan improved her hunting ability.

↑After she ate food, she started sleeping. It was very hot today, so she didn’t want to do anything except for eating and sleeping. This is exactly the Tongan cat.

Nekoちゃんはご飯を食べた後、寝はじめました。今日はとても暑かったので、食べることと寝ること以外は何もしたくないようでした。全くトンガの猫です。

↑I have almost completed the two abacus edition YAMANEKO dolls. One is YAMANEKO, and another one is YAMANEKO-KO, female YAMANEKO. YAMANEKO will go to Yumi’s house, and YAMANEKO-KO will go to Asami’s house.

２体のそろばん山ネコをほぼ完成させました。１つは山ネコで、もう１つは山ネコ子です。山ネコ子は女の子の山ネコです。山ネコはBonmasの家へ、山ネコ子はAchamiさんの家へ行きます。
 

 

↑Somedays ago, Asami advised me how to make eyelashes, I followed her advice, and moved it to a new place.

先日Achamiさんがどのようにまつ毛を作るかアドバイスをくれました。それに従い、新しい場所へ移しました。
